Big Brother 2012: Caroline Wharram’s sarcasm gets her into trouble with Sara again! #McDonaldsgate
This afternoon, Big Brother housemate Caroline Wharram has yet again upset fellow housemate Sara McLean by making sarcastic remarks.
The incident – which we’ll call McDonald’s Gate – began when Sara casually remarked that a Micky D’s can be found in Egypt.
Caroline immediately burst out laughing and began to argue with Sara about the concept of Ronald McDonald rubbing shoulders with Tutankhamen, and Sara was not amused.
Speaking to Scott, Caroline said, “Imagine if there was like a takeaway shop on a pyramid…”
He studiously ignored her, refusing to get pulled into the debacle, as Sara retorted, “I don’t take the p**s out of you, so please don’t take the p**s out of me. It’s not nice.”
Caroline replied, “No I… it’s the idea, the idea…”
But Sara wasn’t about to be placated and she continued, “It makes me feel really small and stupid.”
Equally, Caroline wasn’t going to be put off either, and she added, “No but imagine if there was a fast food shop on the pyramids,” which was cue to another burst of hysterical hee hawing.
Sara responded, “I didn’t say there was a McDonalds ON a pyramid! It really upsets me when somebody tries to belittle me like that. It makes me feel this size, so please don’t do it to me again.
“I’ve told you about a hundred times in here; I don’t appreciate it.”
As Sara walked away, Caroline said, “OK… ” and after a pause of about thirty seconds, she continued, “But imagine if there was like a takeaway shop on the pyramids…”
With Scott still ignoring her, yet more laughter commenced as a furious Sara retorted, “I don’t take the p**s out of anybody. I just don’t understand why you feel the need to belittle people. It’s not nice.
“It makes me feel really upset Caroline. I was telling a story and you’re just taking the p**s out of me! You’re supposed to be my friend so why are you doing that?”
Caroline said, “I’m not” and began a rambling ‘joke’ about someone ordering pizza then having to drive to Egypt for it.
Sara, still very unimpressed, said, “Yeah Caroline you’ve done this so many times and it’s not nice at all. It makes me feel horrible, it makes me feel so small, it makes me really, really upset.”
By the time Sara had finished, Caroline was sheepishly staring at the floor, and luckily for her – for I fear she might have induced actual harm otherwise – she didn’t giggle or say another word.
She just doesn’t learn does she?
