Big Brother’s Bit on the Side host Emma Willis is joining forces with Alexander Armstrong to present a new quiz show entitled Prize Island which will air on Saturday nights…

But in today’s TV Biz, Emma, who’s mum to two young children, Isabelle Catherine and Ace Billy, revealed that she’d had to think “long and hard” before accepting the job as it means being away from her kids for a month.

Filming will take place on a tropical island, and will see couples facing a series of challenges to end up taking the prize.

Emma said, “It’s going to be hard without the kids — it’s going to be really, really hard. I find it insanely hard to be away from them.

“They’ve been at my mum’s for two days and every night in bed I’m looking at pictures thinking, ‘Come home.’ I really miss them!

“It’s a tropical island, possibly malarial, and I have young children. They can’t come…

“I wouldn’t risk it in any way, shape or form with them. That was something I had to think long and hard about.”

Emma went on to reveal that the children will stay at home with their dad, Matt Willis of pop band Busted, who, fortunately didn’t have any work commitments set up for the time Emma will be away.

She added, “If I’m away, I don’t want him to be away as well. We always want one of us to be here with the children.

“I’m not thinking about it. I’m pretending it’s not happening. When I go, I’m going to have to deal with it and I’m going to be an absolute mess.”

On the subject of actually hosting the show, Emma said, “I’m sh***ing it.”

I love that woman.

Prize Island will air later this year.
