Big Brother 2012: End Violence Against Women Coalition hit out at Conor McIntyre’s bullying of Deana Uppal

A charity which works with victims of domestic violence has hit out at Big Brother bosses for allowing the bullying of Deana Uppal to continue.

The ‘End Violence Against Women Coalition’ have blasted producers on the Channel 5 reality TV show for not stepping in when Conor McIntyre blasted the beauty queen during a recent row.

Big Brother did warn Conor about his use of language and his attitude towards his fellow housemate, but the charity think more action should be taken and that the personal trainer should be immediately evicted, before things get any more out of hand.

Director Holly Dustin told The Sun:

“It is highly irresponsible of Channel 5 and Big Brother not to have immediately removed Conor McIntyre from the house.”

She continued the interview, insisting that Dean should not have to be confined in a small space with a man who acted in a threatening manner towards her.

Dustin added: “Merely giving McIntyre a ticking off in the diary room sends a very harmful message to young people that abusive behaviour towards women is entertainment.”

The furore erupted when Deana struggled to pass a recent task. She chose to eat a piece of cake during the ‘confusing cuisine’ challenge but gagged and almost vomited when she realised it was made from ham and hot sauce.

After ranting at the model, he later warned:

“I’m gonna play loads of pranks on her. F*****g piece of s***,”

A BB spokesman said last night: “Having spoken to Conor, and bearing in mind our duty of care to the other housemates, we are satisfied that he should continue in the programme.”

Lydia Louisa has threatened to expose both Conor and Arron Lowe and all their bullying ways if she is evicted from the house later tonight. She is up against Deana in the public vote, and has also claimed to be suffering at the hands of the bully boys.

Currently, bookies are tipping Louisa to leave and we can’t wait to hear what the professional dancer has to say about the men in the house if she does get sent home.

Do you think Conor has been bullying Deana? Should he have been removed from the house? Leave your comments below…

Connor did not mean any of it he is a nice guy his exs would be saying that he like hit then when it is not true all of it was funny untill he mentioned I would smack her but he did not mean it at all and was very sorry about it once he calmed down so no he shouldnt have been evicted straught away

Its so sad that people like Conor should be in the house. From my point of view he is a RACIST and a very unpleasant person. He is my LEAST liked housemate. He contributes nothing to the house and It seems like he’s suffered from bullying before so he seeks someone like Deana he can vent his anger on. He’s not confident, not funny and i personally don’t like his attitude. Probably he shouldn’t have been evicted straight away but he should have been put up for eviction or given a real punishment.

Susana….Conor has at no point conveyed any racist tone or uttered any words which could even be construed as having racist undertones. Do not label someone in a manner which is clearly wide of the mark. As for his lack of contribution…..the housemates must think that he offers something given that he has accumulated a very small number of votes across the 3 weeks to date. He has won a task (following which he chose to purchase prizes which everyone could join in with) and yesterday contributed towards winning another task.
P.s……he has never been bullied or acted in such a manner towards another individual. Bore off.

The fact that Conor’s foul mouthed outburst is seen as nothing to get excited about by many, especially really stupid girls, if FB is anything to go by, is really worrying in itself. The fact that a violent, abusive tirade against a woman is seen as entertainment, is even more worrying.
Channel5 should be ashamed of themselves and the message they have sent out to young men , that this kind of abuse can be glossed over and that it’s quite acceptable.A mild ticking off and a forced apology to BB, not even to Deana herself, seems to make it all alight.

    Disgraceful CH5

After watching his disgusting rant I really can’t enjoy watching the program any more. I really wish he was not in the house, but clearly the wishes of 1000 people didn’t matter to Channel 5.
