Big Brother 2012: Luke A says Ashleigh is trying to be the next Jade Goody; is she?
Big Brother housemate Ashleigh Hughes is, on the face of it, the living embodiment of the Essex stereotype…
A bit thick, a bit orange, fond of alcopops and cider and a fan of holidaying in Eyebeefa.
However, her fellow housemate Luke A reckons it’s all a sham, and in fact, Ashleigh’s not as dumb as she makes out. Furthermore, he thinks Ashleigh has plans to become the next Jade Goody…
Tragic Jade – who died on Mother’s Day in 2009 after losing her fight with cervical cancer – of course shot to fame after having starred in the third series of Big Brother.
Her perceived lack of intelligence became her trademark ‘thing’ and saw her become both the nation’s sweetheart and one of the most hated women in Britain…

But to return to what Luke A said, he told fellow housemate Adam, “Ash tries to be like Jade Goody so badly by regurgitating lines from other series.
“She said ‘Where’s East Anglier.’ I was like ‘Are you for real?’”
Among some of Ashleigh’s more outstandingly stupid comments are, “I didn’t know chickens came from eggs” and “Jesus was born in the 1900s.”
She also remarked, “Ibiza has a different sun”, “Is the UK in Africa?” and she says she’s seen evidence that “Blind people can see in the dark.”
So, what do you think? Is Ashleigh as dumb as she seems or is she faking it, hoping to emulate Jade’s post-BB success?

Nobody can be that thick. Even Jade had common sense, God bless her. There will never be another like her so Ashleigh is wasting her time trying.
Ditto, & whilst Jade (God Rest Her Soul) had a tad innocence about her quips we giggled with her. And when she (J) went off on ‘one’ she had the decency to apologise & went 2 India & mingled with said version of BB show all the while in torment awaiting test’s outcome re cancer. What a humble lady.
As for that nasty, vile ugly chrosome…Ashleigh, no comparison whatsoever. Luke A is right saying she (A) was ‘trying’ to act like Jade, but of course that will never be accepted by the public. Jade had CLASS & will always be remembered as the most impressive BB contestant. Ashleigh, Becky, Luke S & Conor are complete & utter wannabes who would stick pins in their eye’s merely 2 be in the final 3 – Conor especially, he’d sell his soul for ‘fame’.
