Big Brother 2012: Luke Anderson’s wife Becki says he’s “already a winner to me”

As fans of Big Brother 13 will know, housemate Luke Anderson – who’s known within the house as Luke A, given there’s another Luke in there in the shape of Luke Scrase – is a transsexual who’s undergone gender assignment hormone therapy and surgery…

And into today’s Daily Star, his wife Becki has revealed that she couldn’t be more proud of her chef husband and how he’s bravely chosen to put his life story out there into the public arena.

Likewise, Luke’s dad Bill recently told the same paper that although he’d “lost a daughter” when Laura became Luke, he “gained another son.”

But back to what Becki had to say, and she revealed that she’d been dating Luke for around a month before he explained that he is transgendered…

She said, “We had been going out for about a month – obviously nothing too serious.”

And of “the talk” in which Luke revealed the truth about his gender issues, she said, “I was a bit nervous but I could see he was as well.

“I actually asked if he had been in prison. He laughed and said: ‘Don’t be silly’.

“He just told me he hadn’t always been a man and that he was born female.

“Obviously I was shocked. But I knew I was fine with it.

“Looking back it helped us realise we could completely trust one another.”

She added, “Everybody has accepted him, the Big Brother thing secret was really no problem after all he and I have been through together.

“It doesn’t matter how long he lasts in the house. He is already a winner to me.”

Altogether now… awwwwww! What a lovely thing to say.

It’ all lovely people except HE still has a vagina. If I went out with a girl and she just sort of mentioned she still had a penis,I’m sorry butI’d have to say you’re not a woman just because you look vaguely like one,or vice versa.

Hi Jake, I think a lot of guys would agree with you there, but it’s different for us girls, and obviously it’s a bit more complicated to complete the reassignment when it’s female to male. Without being crude, the lack of certain organs is easy to work around!!

Hey becki! I think you’ve handled everything so well. Obviously luke is lovely and I’m really happy he went on big brother! I think it would have took me a lot of thought, how did you get through everything so well?

Hi Jake , you are so wrong . Having a certain body part does not male you male or female , there is more to it than that. As a female to male transsexual I never was female in the mind and am happy. I also am getting to know a wonderful woman who will one day become my wife hopefully !

Good luck to luck and Beck , I trained and used to work as a chef .

A person who is able to get pregnant and carry a baby is a woman. If he went into jail…It would be a womans jail

Its a real shame that there are still so many narrow minded people in this country.. People should have the freedom to live how they feel comfortable without the fear of being judged by small minded idiots! I think it’s admirable the strength you have shown towards your partner and relationship.

I think Luke is a lovely guy, I find myself very attracted to him and think Becki is lucky to have him!! I am sure it was a bit of a shock when she first found out but fair play to her for realising that some things aren’t always a question of black and white. Luke’s physical mix-up obviously happened in the womb and I cannot applaud him highly enough for coming out and highlighting these issues because as is apparent in some of the previous comments, some people just aren’t enlightened enough to accept that sometimes biological errors happen. This could mean being born with a genetic disorder, or in Luke’s case a question of the wrong body parts forming. I think he has proved to be so much more of a man than a generous percentage of the population by standing up and being counted. Good on you Luke – I am hoping and praying he wins.
