In true moody form, Alexandra DeGale walked out of yesterday’s Big Brother shopping task.

In the task, Rachel and Dennis had to pass a metal ring through a track without touching it. When they did, their fellow housemates were buzzed through a special suit.

Alex had been boasting before the task started about her high pain threshold. She said: “I’ll take a few shocks if it means we get food. I don’t think it will be painful. It will be more uncomfortable than anything else.”

But both she and Sylvia found the going way too tough and gave up on the task, which was eventually lost anyway. The housemates now have to survive on a ration of £1 per head.
