Big Brother : Day 38 Highlights

Day 38

10.14am: Last night Mario was the fourth person to be evicted. Rebecca is talking to Mikey about surviving the public vote. “I can’t believe I’m still here, I bet I’ll be out next week”, she says. Mikey tells her she did really well to beat Mario as he was such a big character in the house.

Rebecca is in the Diary Room. She tells Big Brother that she thinks some of the housemates are gutted that she’s still here, especially Darnell and Mohamed. She says, “Everyone is s**ting themselves as they all thought I was irritating and loud and bound to go … and I didn’t. Therefore I can’t be that hated and now they are scared as they have been slagging me off”. When asked which housemate was most pleased to see her stay she says, “Luke, but I think he fancies me which is scaring me. We were really good friends before but now we’ve crossed a line with the snogging. He’s being too nice to me which is creepy. I just want to be friends with him”.

1.01pm: Maysoon and Mohamed are talking about the Halal meat in the house which is specifically for Mohamed as he can only eat Halal food. Rex tells Maysoon that he’s annoyed with Rex who told him that as the house was on a basic budget he would have to forfeit his Halal meat as too expensive.

Mohamed is talking to Rachel in basic bedroom about being annoyed with Rex. He tells her that he’s disappointed in Rex as he is supposed to be his friend. Rachel tells him that she’s sure Rex didn’t mean it and that he should talk to him about it.

1.14pm: Luke is in the Diary Room talking about Rebecca. “Rebecca never acts in a malicious way. She does things in a sweet and child-like way. At the same time she’s a clever girl, she’s honest and tells people what she thinks. I admire her, she has admirable qualities … I’ve never had a friend quite like her before!”, he says. He also tells Big Brother that now Mario has left, the house is lacking a leader. He admits that he would quite like to take on this role. “The void needs filling … and I would be good at it”, he declares.

Kat, Mohamed and Rachel are in the basic bedroom. They are still talking about Mohamed being upset with Rex. Rachel tells him that as Rex is his friend then he should talk to him. “I don’t have a friend anymore”, he tells them. Kat reassures Mohamed that this isn’t the case and that they just have a different point of view. Mohamed says, ” I’m not speaking to him, I’m keeping my mouth shut. The honeymoon period is over”.

2.38pm: All the housemates are on the sofa. Big Brother reveals that housemates have 15 minutes to choose three housemates to run for election as Head of House. Big Brother reveals that the Head of House will choose and order items from the shopping list, decide when and how housemates use tokens, make important decisions regarding tasks and most significantly, the Head of House will be immune from next week’s eviction. All housemates initially volunteer but finally they all agree that Dale, Darnell and Luke will be the Head of House candidates. Darnell says, “This is a big thing … whoever it is will be hated next week”.

5.02pm: Rebecca is helping Luke with his manifesto in the luxury bedroom. “I really think I can win this”, he tells her. On the sofa’s, the housemates discuss whether Darnell, Luke or Dale would make the best Head of House. Rex says, ” Luke would definitely be my last choice”. Mikey asks him why, and Rex replies that Luke is too easily persuaded by other people. He tells Mikey that the Head of House needs to be a ‘head figure’ and that is just not Luke. Belinda tells Rex that when people get power they can sometimes change for the better. Rex is adamant that Luke is not suitable and Darnell gets his vote as he’s ‘funny’. Mikey pipes in, “It’s not about being funny, it’s about going back to basics. We need decisive leadership”. Rex tells Mikey to go and ‘lick Luke’s a**e’. Shocked, Rachel tells Rex that he’s being really horrible to everyone today and she knows what his plan is – to be nasty to everyone so that he’s up for nomination the following week.

6.14pm: Dale, Luke and Darnell deliver their manifesto’s to the housemates. Dale tells housemates he wants a democratic house and will deliver people’s opinions to Big Brother. If Luke is elected, he will evict the basic budget and ensure the house is happy by getting as much alcohol as possible, even though he doesn’t drink. Darnell says, if he is elected he will take a stand and be responsible for everything in the house. He wants everyone to be honest with one another and to come to him with any problems they may have. Belinda sheds a tear at Darnell’s speech.

8.33pm: One-by-one the housemates are called to the ballot box in the garden. They have to put a cross next to one of the candidates names. Under no circumstances must they reveal to the other housemates who they have voted for. Dale votes for himself whilst Luke votes for Darnell and Darnell votes for Dale.

11.51pm: Rebecca and Luke are in the luxury bedroom. Luke is a little down and tells Rebecca that he’s fed up of no one taking him seriously and being seen as ‘just the guy who gets terrorised by you’. He goes on to tell her that he’s fed up and is starting to think that some of the other housemates may be jealous of their friendship. Rebecca agrees.

1.12am: Rebecca, Stuart and Dale are in the toilet. They decide to make toilet paste bombs using toilet paper and throw them at the other housemates. Rex joins in but decides he would rather watch than throw. Lead by Stuart and Rebecca, they run around the house throwing the toothpaste bombs at the unsuspecting housemates. Rebecca turns on Dale and throws one at him. In revenge Dale throws an egg at her.
