Highlights from tonight’s show, Wednesday 18th June, 10pm on Channel 4

” The housemates ‘turn Japanese’ for this week’s shopping task

” Alex and Mohamed continue to disagree over his cross-dressing fun at his birthday party

10.15am: Today is the Japanoroma task where the housemates must learn and pass five different elements of Japanese culture – karate, karaoke, eating with chopsticks, learning to speak Japanese and karate chopping a piece of wood.

The housemates are woken up to the song ‘I’m turning Japanese’. They go to the living room and discover Big Brother has dressed the room Japanese style with low tables, futons, lanterns and fans. The housemates are excited. Rex says, “Does this mean we are getting Chinese takeaway tonight!”. Darnell and Dennis wrestle each other on the giant karate mat in the garden.

11.52am: Alex is talking to Dennis about her and Mohamed’s disagreement the night before when Alex refused to take part in his cross-dressing birthday celebrations. She says, “He has the cheek to go to the Diary Room and discuss me as I didn’t want to cross-dress. He told Big Brother that I made him feel uncomfortable – he made me feel uncomfortable. He’s someone I’m supposed to look up to for guidance and he’s prancing around in a f**king skirt. First and foremost I am a Muslim, it’s bad enough that I drink and smoke and come on TV seen doing so”. “.

Alexandra and Mohammed are in the Bedroom. Alex tells Mohamed that he should be more aware of how his actions are being viewed outside of the house and that a man of their religion should not be prancing about in a skirt. Mohamed says he does not care about what the outside world or Alexandra thinks; he is just having fun.
Mohamed tells Alexandra that if she has issues regarding dress, then she should not walk around in short skirts. Alexandra tells Mohamed that if he has issues with her then he should raise them with her and not go and talk about them in the Diary Room. Mohamed tells Alexandra he doesn’t care what Alexandra and anyone else thinks about it. Alexandra calls him a disgrace.

12.21pm: Some of the Housemates are in the Luxury Bedroom. Darnell, Rachel and Kathreya are in the Living Room. Mohammed has come to the Diary Room. He tells Big Brother that he is upset with Alexandra for telling him he is a small person. He feels Alexandra is acting this way to make herself look good. “She says I am a disgrace, quite a strong word to use…that is unfair.” Mohamed thinks Alexandra is using religion as an excuse. “She is trying to make me look bad…playing the game”. He is visibly annoyed and upset. “Alexandra is just making me argue with her all the time.” He feels because he is constantly arguing with Alexandra he is not acting like his true self.

4.39pm: The housemates have divided themselves into groups for the Japanorama task. Luke, Mario and Rachel will do the Chopstick Challenge; Darnell, Jennifer and Lisa pick the Karate School; Alex, Dennis, Rex, Sylvia and Rebecca choose Karaoke; Kat, Mikey and Mohamed go for learning Japanese. Finally Dale picks Karate Chop.

If one group fails their part of the challenge then the housemates will receive basic food rations for another week.

Alex and Sylvia are talking about the coming week’s food budget and what they will do if they fail the task. Sylvia says, “I’m just buying my own food then if its basic budget”. Alex agrees. ” Some people here are just hogs and some people just aren’t. If I had my own £7 I would be able to make it last the week”.

6.23pm: Sylvia, Dennis, Jennifer and Rebecca are in the luxury bedroom discussing Alex. Dennis says, “Alex is annoying. She hurt me when she said I tried to cause trouble. Why would I do that? I was loyal and justified all her actions”.

Sylvia tells them that Alex said to her that she thinks that Rex and Mohamed have a game-plan to win. She says, “She’s trying to feed things in … its manipulation. I’m not here for that bulls**t”.

6.44pm: Alex has been called to the Diary Room talking about her disagreement with Mohamed. “I never want to talk to him ever again”. She thinks Mohamed is a coward for coming to the Diary Room and telling Big Brother she makes him feel uncomfortable.

7.16pm: Darnell, Lisa and Rachel are practising their karate in the garden. Alex, Dennis and Sylvia are in the bedroom. Alex tells them that earlier that day she had been called into the Diary Room to talk about her discussions with Mohammed. She says, “Apparently my behaviour towards Mohamed this morning was deemed ‘inappropriate’”.

The karaoke room opens. The five housemates who have chosen the karaoke challenge are told that they must sing Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler for the next 24 hours with only two minutes between each housemate swap over.

9.38pm: All the housemates, apart from Dennis who is in the Karaoke room, are gathered on the sofas to hear the results of the nominations. They all hold hands. Big Brother first reveals Alex’s name. “Oo, are you joking?” she jests. The next name Big Brother reveals is Mario. He smiles when he hears his name being called. Mario and Alex hug and wish each other good luck.

Alex goes off to the bathroom and lies on the sofa. Some of the housemates enter the bathroom to see how she’s feeling. She tells them, “Don’t worry, I knew from yesterday”. Jennifer tells her, “I would be p**sed off if it was me”. Alex replies, “I’m good”.
