Big Brother WON’T Be Axed!
Yesterday we reported that Channel 4 bosses were considering axing Big Brother due to bad ratings and lack of interest in the show.
However, Channel 4 programmes chief Julian Bellamy has revealed that the show will continue, he said it’s still popular with teens and those in their 20s - main targets for advertisers - and other shows rely on it for revenue.
If this is true, then Channel 4 certainly need to reinvigorate the show in some major way. Has anyone any ideas out there?

The show is designed to make the contestants be boring. Interesting or even normal people get voted out by the public, who seem to choose the most child-like and innocent person of the bunch. Contestants know they have to spend their time saying nothing controversial, being nice to everyone, and acting as energetic and innocent as a 5 year old. Its boring.
If they want to get more viewers they need to restructure the show to give the contestants incentive to be more interesting and controversial.
My suggestion? Reverse the voting. Have the public nominate and the housemates vote to eject. Allow housemates to talk strategy and voting.
By giving the housemates control over the winner the incentives change and should make it possible for interesting characters to stick around all the way until the end.
More conflict, more drama…. more ratings.
