Big Brother’s tenth anniversary – let the festivities commence!

From Sunday 12th July, Big Brother will be commemorating its tenth anniversary with a week of celebrations and surprises featur ing the most talked-about tasks and most unforgettable housemates from the last nine years.
Each day, a memorable former housemate will challenge a current housemate at one of the most iconic tasks from the ten series of Big Brother. Viewers should also expect some further surprises during the live show on Friday 17th July .
Rumoured former housemates include BB1’s winner Craig, BB1’s Nasty Nick, BB2 winner Brian Dowling, BB8 winner Brian Belo, BB3 winner Kate, BB6’s Kinga, BB7’s Aisleyne, BB8’s Charley, BB9’s Luke and BB7’s Richard & Lea.
It has also been reported that four brand new housemates may also enter the house next week as part of the celebrations.

The producers have got this totally wrong – the show started in July 2000, so it’s the NINTH anniversary, not the tenth!

Well, imagine if the following happened on one of the live shows:
Davina goes up to one of the people in the crowd outside the house and says to him/her, “Isn’t it great that Big Brother is ten years old?” That person responds firmly, “It’s NOT ten years old, Davina, it’s nine” and gives a brief but simple explanation why this is.
More than likely he/she would get booed at by at least 90% of the other people in the crowd, and the tabloids would make a big deal of the event.
