Davina McCall has insisted that she did not say that Big Brother would end after two series and claims that she was misquoted by the press.

“There has been so much stuff written about Big Brother that isn’t true and I definitely didn’t say that,” she told Heat.

“I said that the contract that Channel 4 has with Endemol lasts two more tears and that I’m sure if this series goes well they’ll renew it for longer.

“I would never say it’s over – thank God my producers know me well enough… It could have been hugely damaging to my career.”
