Julie Walters may be about to play the famous Mary Whitehouse, in forthcoming ITV drama Filth: The Mary Whitehouse Story, but she certainly won’t be trying to clean up TV any time soon. In fact she has revealed that she loves reality TV show Big Brother.

She told the TV Times: “Personally I was glued to last year’s Celebrity Big Brother. I felt for poor old Jade Goody, I thought it was very sad.

“It’s fairly grubby stuff but I absolutely couldn’t switch it off.”

But Julie admitted that her character, Mary Whitehouse, would probably not approve of the show

“She would definitely have been campaigning about Big Brother,” she said.

“The sex, the swearing, the general unbridled behaviour - she would have been really troubled by it.”
