Look At Us At The Big Brother Eviction!

As many of you already know some of us were lucky enough to attend the Big Brother eviction show in Elstree last Friday. First of all can I give a massive thanks to our friend Emma at the applausestore.com for providing us with priority tickets. If any of you would like to be in the audience for shows like Big Brother or X Factor then you need to register with them asap!!

I was so excited all last week about attending the show that I could hardly sit still, you can only imagine my elation when we arrived at Elstree and were not only at the very front of the crowd outside the Big brother house, but also given passes to join the actual studio audience for the eviction interview.

First of all I should probably mention that in preparation for the event, Grainne (the one in the gold cardy), Oonagh (the one in the hat) and I, spent the afternoon in the pub, drinking wine and preparing our signs. We spent the first hour despairing of our terrible lack of wit, but as the wine flowed, inspiration hit and out came the highlighters! It all sounds like great fun, but when we eventually rolled out of the pub and into the queue, the bladder situation got a bit frantic and suddenly the three bottles of wine seemed like a bit of a mistake.

On entering the Big Brother complex, we got ridiculously excited by the fact that we could hear the fake crowd noise being streamed into the house and also by the sight of the top few leaves of some trees from the housemates garden. We almost couldn’t breath when we caught our first glimpse of Davina running past, and by the time the live show started I was screaming like a teenager.

Half way through the show we were moved into the Big Brother studio. Unfortunately the security was quite tight inside and we weren’t really supposed to have cameras in there. We got one or two quick shots, but didn’t want to run the risk of getting thrown out.

We managed to get into the first row of the audience. We were so close to the chairs that we could have touched Davina. Had I been male I might have tried to do that as the woman looks even more stunning in real life! The floor manager warned us that when Davina came into the studio to announce which housemate would be evicted we were to remain perfectly silent, so as not to give them any indication of what the public’s opinions were on the nominees. Of course as soon as Davina called Belinda’s name, we got carried away and started to clap. We stopped after three claps and then panicked in case we were evicted along with big B.

After Belinda battled the crowds and the press photographers, she came into the studio and gave us a little private concert before her interview began. I have to say, though I was not overly impressed with Belinda (Belinda Belinda) inside the house, she came across amazingly well during her interview and seemed so genuine and down to earth, even when the cameras weren’t rolling.

So the interview eventually ended and we were getting ready to leave when some of the producers asked if we would like to stay and help them with filming a fake Big Brother eviction for a Channel 4 drama which will be aired later this year. Needless to say I jumped at the chance.

We traipsed back outside and joined the main audience once more, where we told that the crew would be filming a fake BB eviction but we were to respond and react as if it was all real. We stood right beneath the infamous stairs as we watched a blonde girl enter the Big Brother doors, then minutes later Davina evicted her as if she was a normal housemate. We boo’ed and chanted more than we had during the real eviction, and watched as ‘Pippa’ made her way through the crowd, down the runway supposedly to her eviction interview. It was all a bit surreal, but strangely exciting, and I can’t wait to watch the finished product on TV this autumn.

So that was the end of our Big Brother night. We had some more dramas of our own, as a London cabbie abandoned us at the wrong hotel in the wrong part of London and another tried to charge us triple fare to return……but that’s a whole other story!
