Mental Health Charity Wants Big Brother To Stop Exploiting The Vulnerable

The mental health charity MIND has confirmed that they are to speak to Big Brother producers over their worries that vulnerable people are being exploited by the Big Brother team.

They are planning to lodge a formal complaint against the show with OFCOM after five “unstable” housemates were placed in the Big Brother house this year.

Former housemate Shahbaz Chauhdary quit the show after threatening to kill himself, while current housemate Lea Walker suffers from body dysmorphia, Nikki Grahame has had an eating disorder and Pete Bennett has tourette’s syndrome.

New housemate Sam Brodie, a pre-op transsexual, is thought to have mental health issues.

A Mind spokesman says, “We have grave concerts about the programme. We will studying recent footage from Channel 4 in preparation for a complaint to Ofcom.

MARJORIE WALLACE, chief executive of Sane, adds, “The show is playing fast and loose with people’s lives.”
