My thoughts on Big Brother 7..

The following article was submitted by Carl of foundthatsoul.co.nr

So another year draws to a close and strangely I find myself relieved; away from the producer’s desperate ploys to maintain viewing figures, Big Brother’s Big Brain, Mouth and disappointing Little Brother.

As a Big brother fan, frighteningly- fastly, I am finding myself drawn to the anti-BB sentiment. Endemol, the company behind the show are expected to earn up to 35 million in profits, and, for what? I’m not sure that a single person ever believed anyone other than “perfect” Pete would win. So, some may argue, that the mega-bucks are justified for the fun along the way. I’m not convinced by that either. A week of crazy-Shahbaz’s antics; an occasional and very conscious outburst from Nikki and a “dashing” of water. If that’s worth all that dough, Imogen, Suzie and Bonn-eh must go down as the most exciting housemates in Big Brother history.

A total of 22 housemates have appeared on our telly-boxes this series; that’s as many as the first 2 series combined; yet, BB bosses failed to captivate a single “Is there Chicken in Chick Peas?” or Nasty-Nick moment. Mainly because this years hopefuls were hell bent on becoming Z-listers and some had already had their brush with fame..

Lea, had done heaps of telly, boasting about Britain’s Biggest Boobs, Pete - documentaries, Nikki and Lisa had both done Blind Date, Imogen- Miss Wales, Shahbaz was filmed being checked for and STD, and Grace, Aisleyne and Nikki had clearly pummeled their raunchy photos to the press as they mystically appeared mid-series.

The savoir of Big Brother for me, and its sliding legion of fans, will be when Big Brother gives us real people, there for the right reasons and stop crippling the premise of Big Brother. By this I mean; no over-looking rule breaking, no contact with the outside world or streaming of Big Brother footage internally and certainly no bringing back of housemates voted out

I take nothing away from Pete, he was a worthy-winner. Even though, if i weren’t as stubborn and did pick up me’ blower; Glyn would have had my vote.

My summarising sentence is paining me to write, but, my reality TV of the summer has to be the ever- tacky, trashy, hissy-fit-filled Love Island and its at times, embarrassingly desperate Slebs.

Here’s hoping that the Producers sit up and take not for Big Brother 8, or treat us all with Big Brother All Stars. Victor, Kinga, Darren, Nadia..
