ITV has scoured the country and auditions have been held to find the most exceptional young ballroom dancers ready to show off their skills and dazzle with their steps as they compete in the Baby Ballroom Championships.

Hosted by Kate Thornton, Baby Ballroom – The Championship sees the most talented twenty-eight dancers from the UK, all under the age of twelve, fight it out in their couples on the dance floor in two separate heats to get through to the grand final.

Only seven couples can make it through. Judging the talent and selecting the top three couples in each heat are our accomplished panel of judges, led by ballroom dancing legend Pierre Dulaine. The inspiration for the Antonio Banderas’s film, Take the Lead, Pierre has performed all over the world collecting ballroom accolades and has been credited with taking dancing out of the studio and onto the streets of New York, with his dancing programme, now in over 200 schools.

Joining Pierre on the panel are two stars who each were quite literally born to entertain - Bonnie Langford and Ray Quinn. Bonnie’s outstanding career has seen her sing, dance and act and having most recently faced a panel of judges as a contestant on Dancing on Ice, Bonnie knows how nerve-wracking the performances will be for the young competitors.

Passionate about his craft, X-factor finalist Ray has been singing and dancing since he was a very young child and is a junior dancing champion himself. Therefore he has first hand experience of the dedication and professionalism with which the Baby Ballroom dancers will approach this competition.

It will be up to the public to select the final wild card couple from the two heats who they think has proven themselves as exceptional enough to go through to the grand final.

All the couples are fiercely competitive, hugely talented and most importantly all are desperate to prove that they are the best and to walk away with the prestigious Baby Ballroom Trophy.
