Britain’s Got Talent second round of auditions got off to a bad start this week as police were called in to inspect a suspicious device underneath the judges table.

The BGT team were about to begin the second day of filming when a bugging device was found planted underneath the table at which judges, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan sit.

Suspicions were raised when the device caused interference with the recording equipment being used.

Show creator, Simon Cowell suspects a freelance journalist may be to blame. He said:

“This shows the extent to which people will go to get inside knowledge on what is going on.”
