Britain’s Got Talent 2009: Amanda Holden Doesn’t Buy Sob Stories

Amanda Holden

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has said that she has no time for sob stories on the ITV talent show.

Amanda may be the only female judge on the panel, but she insists that this doesn’t mean she is any sort of soft touch for people needing sympathy.

“I’m not an easy touch as the only woman,” she said. “I’m strict this year, I won’t tolerate sob stories, we want talent!

“I’m happy to listen to stories but unless you have a talent to back it up, it just won’t wash with me.”

Holden also admitted that she would like to see a “dance troupe” win this year’s series.

“I remember growing up and watching big dance groups like Legs & Co and Hot Gossip who were everywhere, in the papers, in music videos,” she said. “We don’t seem to have a well known dance troupe like that these days, so I’d like to see one win this year, we have space for it, really hot girls…or hot boys!”
