Britain’s Got Talent 2009: Amanda Holden Tells Simon Cowell Not To Hire Anyone Younger!

Britain’s Got Talent judge, Amanda Holden has told The Mirror how she warned Simon Cowell not to hire a judge younger than her for the show.

Over the last two years Simon has tinkered a lot with the X Factor judging panel, but Amanda says that she wouldn’t stay on BGT if he did the same with that show.

Holden told The Mirror:

“I said to Simon: ‘If you ever wheel in anyone younger than me, I’ll kill you! I’d rather leave the show!’” she laughs.

“I’m really looking forward to the new series and I love that I can be myself. I remember the first day I worked on the show and Simon said to me, ‘This is a great gig, isn’t it?’ You can just turn up and you don’t have any lines to learn!

“You just have to sit there and go with your gut instinct and say whatever comes into your head. I’ll never write anything down or watch the dress rehearsal. I like to be fresh.

“And you get full hair and make-up, which is obviously my favourite thing!”

Amanda is urging more novelty acts to come forward for the next series. “I loved George Sampson. I know the producers are starting the auditions now, but there is not enough variety. There are too many singers – so that is a plea from me now!”
