Britain’s Got Talent 2010: Interview with Chloe Hickinbottom

Young Chloe Hickinbottom impresses with Vera Lynn song

Ten year old Chloe Hickinbottom will make her return to the Britain’s Got Talent stage for tonight’s semi final. Read on to hear what she had to say about why she started to sing and what current stars inspire her.

When and how did you discover you had your talent?
I’ve only really been singing for the last year, I love singing, it’s my passion. I feel on top of the world when I’m singing. I started singing on my own, I’ve never had any lessons and I just started singing in my bedroom.

What is the largest audience you have performed in front of before this show?
This is the first time I’ve ever sung in public except when I sang in my school assembly. I wouldn’t even sing in front of my family they’d only ever hear me through my bedroom door and think it was a CD! I used to be nervous but all that has just faded away.

What would you do with the prize money?
I’d like to buy a house and go to Primark, Matalan and River Island!

Who is your inspiration?
Vera Lynn and modern day people I like are Alexandra Burke, Leona Lewis, Mariah Carey and Cheryl Cole.

What’s the ultimate dream?
I’d like to be travelling the world, singing in big places. I’d like to sing in front of the Queen too, that would be a great honour.
