Britain’s Got Talent 2010: No talent in Cardiff!
The Britain’s Got Talent judges have admitted that they were disappointed by the standard of auditions they saw in Cardiff this year.
After watching a 71 year old belly dancer prance around the stage, Amanda Holden told The Sun:
“Cardiff is our favourite place to come, but this afternoon there have been no potential winners and no talent.
“It was one of the worst shows we’ve ever had.”
Simon, 50, agreed saying: “You have just witnessed one of the worst days in Got Talent history.”
He added: “You will remember where you were when you watch this back.”
Did you audition in Cardiff or did you watch the show? If so we’d love to hear if you found the talent as poor as Simon and Amanda claim. As always leave your comments below.

And theres no talent anywhere else Morgan,so stop raving you gormless twit!
I auditioned at the lunchtime show on the 26th January 2010 in Cardiff. Let’s just say that for me personally a technical sound hitch occurred which ruined my audition. Obviously the judges were not aware at the time re errors that occurred backstage. Can’t write anymore about this because I am not allowed to. One day all shall be revealed.
hi Moonlight it happened to my act to on stage we couldnt heat the judges which made it very hard for us to communicate and there was an awkward silence mmmm shame as we didnt even get to sing a min of our song, all friends and family very unset,so i agree with you totally
Lets face it are they really looking for real talent? It must be remembered that it is the TV producers that decide who goes
up in front of Cowel& Co when TV recording takes place.
So of course commenting that Cardiff was bad was in fact good because this is what the producers intend.
Remember the PRODUCERS CHOOSE who goes in front of Cowel & Co, Cowel & Co do not see the preliminary recordings.
The preliminary recordings are the very first stage after sending in your application form where you get filmed with
a camera and producer and questions are asked etc. Those who attended the preliminaries NOT the ones in front of Cowel & Co and some were absolutely brilliant, know what a farce it all is.
Yes – Felix Brown – I totally agree with what you wrote. It is such a shame that we auditionees are not at present allowed to share our experiences with the media or press yet. This has been brought to their attention – believe me…..am not at liberty to write anymore but just wanted to say that I did everything the producers and my mentor asked me to do….
Moonlight not sure if im allowed to ask but were u the lady playing the keys! i was in the audience and i think it was u .. yr piano sound was different to wat it was meant to be? If this is you then i think you had an unfair chance as the sound wasnt your fault. i wasnt sure what exactly happened but i thought u were great giving simon the back chat… i love simon but love it even more when he has competition lol. I was hoping it wud turn out for you but seems like they just gave up too easy.. all the best for future auditions. I was meant to audition for this show but couldnt make it on the day of the audition always next year x
I was the lady with the keyboard – and yes – as I touched the keys there was no sound! The sound-tech guy came on stage because all my settings had been ruined due to loose chord attachment. I managed to keep cool and was very professional – to the point of being understanding and forgiving for the technical hitch. The audience and the judges didn’t appreciate what an impact this had on my audition. Once I was plugged back in, the backing track began again – much too loud and – and alas I had no time to re-set my sound. After that, total humiliation and accused of blaming everyone else for my ‘awful’ audition! I didn’t even get a chance to play and I am a post Grade 8 pianist and professional musician and composer…..Wouldn’t have minded if I got a chance to perform and if I was buzzed off because the judges didn’t like me then that would have been totally acceptable. Instead I am left with the most humilating experience of my life. My sons were in the audience and were so upset about what happened. Hearing 2,000 people shouting ‘off’ felt like the guilty verdict for an execution. My case is pending with Associate Producer….x Thanks for your support and comment.x
What do they know about talent its all publicity!!!There was plenty there they just didnt get through to audition stage.
yes true bex really bad organisation
heey, i auditioned for bgt this year in front of the produsers but i dont think i have gotten through as i havnt reseved any phone call. im not vain at all but i didnt think i did that bad in the audition but oviously i wasnt what they looked for, but im going to audition next year soo hopefully i will get better luck next time
p.s. i think bgt is really good but i dont think it wil this year al im not in it lol (jocks) but i still think its going to be rubbish this year x
i would like to know why my daughter has not received a letter i think it is not right she is very talented and because we live in cornwall we never get the credit they deserve we willhave to sit and watch a show with a load off rubbish on it
I do not believe the judges are looking for talent. I know of 2 groups who are most definately talented – award winning in fact, who were “buzzed” by Simon within seonds of starting their act. He did not wait to see if there was any talent there or not. I am sure that probably applies to other acts too.
Perhaps it’s about time that the name of the show was changed to its correct name (BRITAINS GOT TO HAVE TV RATINGS). When my daughter auditioned in Cardiff there were many very good acts that were rehearsing, but obviously they didn’t get through. Probably because they were not so good for the programmes ratings like a 71 year old belly dancer.
I Auditioned in Cardiff for Britains got talent
but I was not informed by letter or phone call to weather I got through to the judges round
I know that I can win Britains got Talent I was the semi finalist of 2008
I shall be applying again in 2011 As I believe that everyone even me deserves a second chance ie quote
George Sampson for instance he won the second time around. in 2009
I have not watch the show as dont think it has started yet on TV but I would agree that there is usually
some people that have no talent. but I myself do have talent and if I had got through I would have won Britains got Talent and it would have pushed the rating up.
See u in 2011
kind regards Michael Machell
