Britain’s Got Talent 2010: Owner offers Simon Cowell Laika the guitar playing dog

Melissa Serpico has revealed that Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell was so smitten by her talented dog Laika at their recent audition, that she offered him ownership of the beloved pooch.

Claiming that she had the world’s only guitar playing dog, Melissa took to the London Hammersmith Apollo stage stage and judge Simon Cowell was instantly impressed, telling Amanda Holden:

“See those are the kind of dogs I like. I like old, nobody wants me dogs.”

Melissa proceeded to play the guitar and sing the Beatles Let It Be as her dog Laika sat next to her looking in the opposite direction.

Presenter Ant McPartlin laughed: “I’ve never seen a dog look embarrassed before, until now. That dog looks embarrassed.”

She later told The Romford Recorder: “I started my song but the crowd started chanting ‘Off! Off! Off!’ Simon said ‘show us your guitar-playing dog’. The crowd weren’t impressed with Laika, but Simon said if I wanted I could come back next year.”

Although the audition was a complete wipeout, Melissa also told the newspaper that she heard Simon Cowell muttering to his fiancee Mezhgan Hussainy ‘I want that dog!’

So she called his publicist and offered him the pooch….not surprisingly, months later, she is still waiting on Simon to return her call….
