Britain’s Got Talent 2010: Spellbound will perform most dangerous act ever
Britain’s Got Talent hopefuls Spellbound have put together a death defying routine for tonight’s first semi -final of 2010. The act is said to be so dangerous that it has left ITV bosses terrified and putting extra safety measures in place.
The gymnastic acrobats will balance on each others head to make a human pyramid…..one slip and the whole team comes crashing down.
Show bosses were so shocked when they watched Spellbound rehearse, that they reportedly ordered more medics to be waiting in the wings of the stage, put out extra thick crash mats and banned members from wearing any body makeup in case it makes them slippery.
Leader Alex Uttley, 24, told The Sun: “We’re the most dangerous act they’ve ever had. If it goes wrong we’re talking broken bones.”
“We love taking risks. People will be covering their eyes because they can’t bear to watch.
“We’ve got new stuff in there we’ve not tried before, which is scary.
“Yesterday during rehearsals they were amazed, but they’ve given us thicker mats so we’re covered for health and safety.
“But if any of the moves went wrong it would still be disastrous. The stage was a bit smaller than we thought too.
“We’ve had a few falls but we bounce back and get back up. There’s loads that could go wrong.”
In a bid to make their routine amazing and in the hope that they make Saturday night’s final, Spellbound have booked choreographer Nicola Yellop, who normally works on international competitions. Bookies are currently touting the group as the favourites to take this year’s BGT title and Alex hopes that thy can live up to everyone’s high expectations.
He said:
Expectations are very high and we’ve tried to bring in a better routine.
“Hopefully the judges will see tomorrow that we’ve raised our game.
“The worst thing they could say to us would be that we haven’t improved.
“We’ve been in the gym at seven in the morning and going home at 11 at night. We’ve put a lot of hard work in, and I hope that shows in our performance.
“It’s been amazing being favourites, but it’s a lot of pressure on us.”
