Britain’s Got More Talent presenter Stephen Mulhern has admitted that he was shocked that Jai McDowall won Britain’s Got Talent on Saturday night, because he almost forgot he was in the final.
McDowall became the shock winner of the ITV show at the weekend, surprisingly beating bookies’ favourite Ronan Parke and Mulhern admittted that he always felt like the ‘underdog’ of the series.
“I forgot that Jai was even in the competition,” Mulhern said on This Morning.
“He was like the underdog. You only saw him a couple of times,” he added.
The presenter also claimed that he thinks the recent fix furore surrounding Ronan, affected his chances of winning the show on Saturday. He explained:
“Do you know something, I don’t think it helped. If people are going to be influenced by what they read, and we all know they are, of course it’s not going to help.”
