Britain’s Got Talent 2012: Amanda Holden rules out having more children after heartache of losing two babies
As fans of Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden will know, Amanda has had to bear the heartache of losing two babies having given birth to a stillborn son in 2011 and after suffering a miscarriage in 2010.
However, since those tragedies, Amanda went on to have her baby daughter Hollie, but she’s revealed that her family is now complete as she couldn’t bear the prospect of anything going wrong with another pregnancy.
Speaking to the Mirror, Amanda, who’s also mum to six year old Lexi, said, “I’d love a bigger family – but that’s it…
“No more, I couldn’t face it again. Two kids is the perfect number.”
Since she lost her babies, Amanda has become a supporter of the Stepping Stones charity, which counsels bereaved parents in Cornwall.
Of the charity and its work, Amanda said, “Losing the little boy in February 2011 was an awful tragedy which affected the whole family.
“I was in the West Middlesex Hospital in Isleworth, which has a good network of support for people in that situation.
“When we heard that a similar group, Stepping Stones, was being set up in Cornwall, my mum and dad decided to support it and it seemed the right time for me to help.
“The most important thing is to have your grief understood, receive medical advice at the same time and for families to get the answers to their questions.
“Mothers who have lost a child blame themselves, even though there is no reason to do so.
“Stepping Stones is a brilliant charity and will include people who have lost children themselves.”
