Britain’s Got Talent 2012: David Walliams joins The Showbears on stage – and this is why he’s brilliant! (VIDEO)

This is exactly why David Walliams was hired to come and judge on Britain’s Got Talent.

We may have loved Michael McIntyre’s quick wit on last year’s series of the ITV show, however, Walliams’ willingness to get involved, to mock himself, Simon Cowell, the acts and anyone standing in his vicinity, but at the same time be encouraging and constructive to the performers, in our opinion makes him the best talent show judge we’ve ever seen!

On tomorrow night’s episode of BGT, the Little Britain star takes to the stage with hopeful singing and dancing comedy act The Showbears, to perform thei own version of ‘It’s Raining Men’ – aptly re-titled ‘It’s Sailor Men.’

The group had already performed for the judges once, when David confessed that he’d love to join in. So he donned a sparkly cap, leaped on stage and got stuck into the routine.

Alesha Dixon loved the performance and danced along from her judges’ table and even show boss Simon Cowell looked amused, which was strange considering he had already buzzed the camp group before Walliams joined in.

The whole audition is real life TV gold and this is the stuff ITV executives need to be featuring more of, if they want to keep bringing in the big viewing figures for their weekend talent specials.

After watching this, we’re not at all surprised by the rumours that Cowell has offered Walliams a big pay rise, if he’ll commit to another series in 2013. We don’t think he can afford to lose him right now!
