Britain’s Got Talent 2012: Jonathan & Charlotte to cover Take That’s Rule the World on debut album, Together!

It’s been reported today that when Britain’s Got Talent finalists Jonathan Antoine and Charlotte Jaconelli release their debut album later this year, it will feature the duo covering Take That’s hit, Rule the World.

The opera-singing couple – who of course lost out in the final of BGT to Ashleigh and Pudsey – have told the PA that they intend to put their own “stamp” on the track.

Jonathan said of the tune, “This is one of our favourite songs.

“When we first listened to the song after we had sung it in the studio, we both thought this really has to be on the album.

“We had a real connection with this song. It’s not just a love song. It’s universal, everybody can take something from it and it reaches out to all.”

Their debut album will apparently feature brand new songs as well as other cover versions, including The Prayer and Muse’s track, Unintended, which has been re-mastered in Italian.

Both Jonathan and Charlotte also revealed that they still can’t believe that their dream of making an album has come true.

Jonathan said, “I’m still pinching myself that we are actually making our own CD!”

And Charlotte added, “This is a dream come true for us.”

Their album, which is to be entitled, Together, goes on sale on September 24.

It is interesting how so many writers assume that anyone, besides themselves, know what doing a cover actually means. It must be “cool” to do that as a writer.

I was disappointed at this version of ‘the Prayer’, it was so much better on BGT final. We also felt not enough of Jonathan’s voice, Charlotte seemed to dominate the album. We will still follow them as we love them . Is it possible to get hold of a copy of the version ‘the prayer as sung on BGT.
