Simon Cowell may have shot himself in the foot at an earlier press conference when Britain’s Got Talent laucnehd earlier this year.

After journalists watched the first show, just days before it aired on ITV, one asked the star if he would consider dancing on stage, if a dog act won the series.

He said back then that he would be happy to do so, as he had always been desperate to have a canine winner for the series, and tonight he was noticeably shocked when Ashleigh and Pudsey triumphed.

They were up against Jonathan and Charlotte in the final, however the dog act received the highest amount of public votes and fellow judge Amanda Holden was only too happy to remind her boss of his promise.

However, when the duo took to the stage though, the music mogul failed to get up and instead just petted the dog and looked suitably embarrassed.

He did take to the stage when the routine was over and hugged the teenage star and her pooch, but it wasn’t quite the TV moment that all us fans were holding out for.
