Britain’s Got Talent 2012: Simon Cowell wants to sign The Artist’s Uggie the dog
Simon Cowell is reportedly hoping to sign one of the world’s most talented dogs to his talent agency.
The Britain’s Got Talent boss is said to be in talks with the owners of Uggie the Jack Russell terrier, who starred in critically acclaimed movie The Artist, and wants to represent the pooch and land him roles in other films.
The wild scamp has quite a story of his own and having being rehomed twice because of his energetic ways, the dog was looking forward to life in an animal shelter or worse, when an animal trainer recognised his talent and acted upon it.
Uggie starred in the three time Golden Globe winning film last year and even attended the prestigious awards ceremony this month, where he dominated the red carpet and overshadowed some of the world’s biggest stars.
One man watching the scenes unfold was Simon Cowell, who was so impressed that insiders say he has contacted Uggie’s owners about working more closely with the pooch.
A source told The Mirror:
“He is Simon’s dream dog – he has longed for someone like Uggie to take to the stage on Britain’s Got Talent. His people have been in touch with Uggie’s owner. He’s obsessed.”
Judges auditions for Britain’s Got Talent start later this month and judging from this story, we’d say any canine acts out there are in with a good chance of making the live shows. If you’ve tried out for BGT, check out our auditionees forums here.
