Arisxandra Libantino was one of the youngest acts to perform on tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent but the young star was just as determined as her elder opponents to make it through the semi finals and onto next week’s grand finale show.
The 11 year old singer wowed the judges with her performance of ‘One Night Only’ during the audition rounds, winning not only four yeses but also a standing ovation from the panel and last night it was confirmed that she had won a place in the final 45 acts and would stand a chance of winning the £250,000 prize fund.
Tonight Libantino performed the massive Whitney Houston track ‘I Have Nothing’ from The Bodyguard soundtrack and while it was the tiniest bit pitchy in parts and she looked nervous throughout, we still found her performance so charming and endearing.
Arisxandra definitely grew in confidence as she went on and we enjoyed watching her greatly, but we can’t help thinking that perhaps she isn’t ready for the bright lights of showbiz just yet.
Simon Cowell used Libantino’s performance to hit back at Strictly Come Dancing star Bruce Forsyth, who recently hit out at the TV boss for using children on his shows. He said:
“If you’ve got it, you’ve got it, who cares how old you are? I had a great time listening to you tonight. It was one of the best performances of the night and I’d like to dedicate this one to Bruce [Forsyth].”
The other judges commented:
David Walliams: You blew the roof off the joint, that was incredible. If you have a talent like yours you have to share that with the country. You are world class.
Amanda Holden: You were so steely, you tore the place up, you had a standing ovation at the end. You came into your own at the end. I hope they vote for you.
Alesha Dixon: That is not an easy thing to do, I really admire you. I could tell you were nervous but once you got into the flow of it and your vocals opened up you were on fire.
