David Walliams and his wife Lara Stone were among several celebrities yesterday who used Valentines Day to promote a good cause yesterday. Sir Elton and Chinese artist Ai Weiwei collaborated on the campaign called Love Is In My Blood, in which Weiwei created a short film advert, which showed the words ‘Love is in OUR Blood’ over the sound of a heartbeat. The video was screened at midnight on February 14 in London’s Picadilly Circus, Times Square in New York and Independence Square in Kiev, Ukraine, which has the largest Aids epidemic in Europe.
The campaign aimed to create discussion around Aids and the fight against it, and reduce the stigma attached to the condition. The foundation also got a number of celebrities involved, including David and Lara, chef Jamie Oliver, author Paulo Coelho and musicians Jessie J and Florence Welch. They pricked their fingers, creating a spot of blood and tweeting a photograph of the image with the words, Love Is In My Blood.
As well as all this, David continued working on his Comic Relief sketch yesterday, despite the romantic date and left it to their dog Bert to surprise Lara with a romantic card.
He tweeted about the sketch saying:
“This sketch has the most bizarre cast ever assembled. All will be revealed on Red Nose Day March 15th.”
While Dr Christian Jessen said:
“Filming with @davidwalliams done, the man is a joy to be with! You are in for a treat.”
We heard that today is Simon Cowell’s turn to film with David and the cast.
Lara herself is also getting involved and this week the model, who is pregnant with the couple’s first child will front a campaign to find Britain’s funniest face.
The star has taken part a the humorous shoot to encourage the public to take the funniest snap they can while wearing the red nose, and to upload the result to Sainsbury’s Facebook page. The winner of the competition will win a VIP meet and greet with Jessie J, who is also shaving her head for the cause. A pop up booth with special guest celebrities will also be placed in selected stores.
“The Funny Faces competition is a fantastic way for everyone to get involved and support Comic Relief by doing something funny for money,” said the Calvin Klein model.
“Just grab a Red Nose from Sainsbury’s and strike a pose!”
Meanwhile, despite his hectic schedule David still turned up to support Andrew Clover on Tuesday at the launch of his book Learn Love In A Week. After the event the star happily posed with fans, showing love truly is in his blood.
