Britain’s Got Talent 2013: David Walliams loves ‘erotic’ performers Meat Diva – Simon Cowell not so much!
Meat Diva made quite the impression when they tried out for Britain’s Got Talent earlier this year.
In scenes to be shown on tonight’s episode, Surrey couple salesman Matthew (31) and barmaid Jody (27) take to the stage to showcase their caberet show with a difference.
The duo describe their act as a performance combining a mixture of comedy & live performance, singing/dancing, audience participation, and special effects.
On their Facebook page they state:
“We perform as a tongue in cheek rock & pop showcase to various artists such as Meat Loaf, Freddie Mercury, Cher, Bonnie Tyler, Lady Gaga, Tina Turner, Elton John, Michael Jackson & more, whilst also paying homage to all the “great” tribute acts out there.”
We don’t want to give too much away about their audition, you’ll need to tune in tonight to see the brilliance for yourself but afterwards David Walliams said:
“I thought it was very erotic. I thought it was a lot of fun. But also there was great chemistry. I thought it was fantastic.”
Amanda Holden added:
“I don’t really know what to say, it was good fun. It made me laugh.”
Alesha Dixon gushed:
“Your voice is fantastic. I loved Tina and I loved Freddie but you kind of lost me around Cher and Meat Loaf.”
Simon Cowell wasn’t as much of a fan though and blasted:
“My problem is that the whole thing looked cheap. It looked like you know; the wigs had fallen out of a Christmas cracker or something. And that’s the problem for me, is that it felt low rent. I don’t see it going any further.”
