Britain’s Got Talent 2013: David Walliams wanted to wow ‘late’ Simon Cowell in his red dress for Cardiff auditions
David Walliams told Simon Cowell he was prepared to go all out to impress him when they were reunited at the Britain’s Got Talent auditions yesterday.
Tryouts for the ITV show kicked off in Cardiff and for days leading up to the event the comic was busy tweeting his boss, telling him how excited he was about seeing him face to face once more.
Before he pulled up to Wales Millennium Centre, in Cardiff Bay the Little Britain star took to the micro blogging website and messaged Cowell, saying:
“@SimonCowell I am going to wear the sparkly red dress for the BGT Cardiff auditions today. You always said I look beautiful in that.”
A fan tweeted him asking:
“you should give @SimonCowell a cheeky kiss on BGT tonight for the viewers ;-)”
To which Walliams replied:
“On his lips or bottom?”
The funnyman wasn’t above taking the mickey out of his other fellow judges either and before Amanda Holden or Alesha Dixon arrived, a fan complained the David that he was ‘freezing’ while waiting in the queue.
The dad to be responded:
“I will be there first. The other judges all take about 10 hours in make-up!”
Amanda didn’t mind the banter, in fact she seemed to love it and as excited as the fans were about BGT’s return, it seems the mum of two was even more psyched. She tweeted:
“Yay! Its BGT day! Cannot wait!!I’m not gonna lie to you! My tummy is churning with excitement!!!!#showuswhatyougotwales”
However, despite David’s assurances, fans were kept waiting outside the venue for hours yesterday, as Cowell showed his usual lack of concern for punctuality.
He was almsot two hours late for the first audition session and on Twitter, fan Megan Hoskins said: “Simon Cowell, hurry up! Some of us are freezing to death here.”
Madeleena Takoree said: “Waiting to watch Britain’s Got Talent auditions, Simon Cowell is late.”
Sophie Ridler said: “This is just ridiculous. Simon Cowell is one-and-a-half hours late, I hate that man.”
