Britain’s Got Talent 2013: David Walliams was the host with the most at the Global Mobile Awards & he’ll be meeting David Milliband this week

David Walliams was the surprise guest host at the Global Mobile Awards on Tuesday, during Mobile World Congress 2013.

The actor, comedian and author had travelled to Barcelona on Monday to host the prestigious event, now in it’s 18th year.

Walliams was received well by guests from around the world, joking on Twitter “The oscars were just a warmup for the global mobile awards” as he gave away important prizes.

Nokia Asha 305 won a GSMA Global Mobile Award for ‘Best Feature Phone or Entry and Israeli navigation app Waze https://twitter.com/waze was awarded “Judges Choice – Best Overall Mobile App amongst many other awards. The Britain’s Got Talent judge flew back to the UK late the same night, to record in the early hours of the next morning, saying:

“Today I’m filming for Comic Relief with an Oscar winner. I’m going to bring my Loaded LAFTA to show them what a proper award looks like.”

On Friday David will be the headline guest at The Customs House‘s South Shields Big Read where he will be Introduced by David Milliband MP and will read from his new book Ratburger.

This is an invited audience for South Shields schools only. There is limited availability and schools will be restricted to one class (plus up to two staff) from year groups 6 & 7.
