Britain’s Got Talent 2013: Fans at auditions angered as 14 out of 15 acts were singers! Should singers be excluded from BGT?
It’s been reported today that the audience at Britain’s Got Talent’s first auditions in Cardiff this week were annoyed that the line-up was dominated by singers.
With a whopping 14 out of 15 acts turning out to be singers, one audience member took to Twitter to vent, saying, “Went to watch Britain’s Got Talent last night. There were 15 acts, 14 singers, 1 performer. #SoSh*t! #BGT.”
However, as we reported earlier, judge Simon Cowell was very impressed with one singer – Robbie from Cwmbran – who he reckons is going to win the show!
But back to the anger of some of the audience, another wrote on Twitter, “X Factor is for singers. We want variety on #BGT.”
The auditions move to London this weekend – assuming the weather doesn’t cause them to be scrapped of course – so maybe the nation’s capital city will unearth a few variety acts.
Were you in the audience in Cardiff? And if so, were you – like those mentioned above – disappointed that the auditions were mainly for singers?
And actually, while we’re on that subject, do you think singers should be banned from BGT? After all, it’s true that X Factor is only a singing competition, whereas BGT is about variety acts…
But there again, singers such as Jonathan Antoine and Charlotte Jaconelli probably wouldn’t have fared well on X Factor.
Let us know what you think, but for now, here’s a reminder of last year’s winning team, Ashleigh and Pudsey…
