Britain’s Got Talent 2013: Fans at auditions angered as 14 out of 15 acts were singers! Should singers be excluded from BGT?

BGT (1)

It’s been reported today that the audience at Britain’s Got Talent’s first auditions in Cardiff this week were annoyed that the line-up was dominated by singers.

With a whopping 14 out of 15 acts turning out to be singers, one audience member took to Twitter to vent, saying, “Went to watch Britain’s Got Talent last night. There were 15 acts, 14 singers, 1 performer. #SoSh*t! #BGT.”

However, as we reported earlier, judge Simon Cowell was very impressed with one singer – Robbie from Cwmbran – who he reckons is going to win the show!

But back to the anger of some of the audience, another wrote on Twitter, “X Factor is for singers. We want variety on #BGT.”

The auditions move to London this weekend – assuming the weather doesn’t cause them to be scrapped of course – so maybe the nation’s capital city will unearth a few variety acts.

Were you in the audience in Cardiff? And if so, were you – like those mentioned above – disappointed that the auditions were mainly for singers?

And actually, while we’re on that subject, do you think singers should be banned from BGT? After all, it’s true that X Factor is only a singing competition, whereas BGT is about variety acts…

Jonathan Antoine Charlotte

But there again, singers such as Jonathan Antoine and Charlotte Jaconelli probably wouldn’t have fared well on X Factor.

Let us know what you think, but for now, here’s a reminder of last year’s winning team, Ashleigh and Pudsey…

Well if there were only 15 acts and 14 were singers were banned that means there would only have been one act which would probably have given them something else to complain about .
You could also say that dancers should be banned because there is ‘Got to dance’ on tv too ..
I think people should stop moaning and try enjoying the show for what it is – entertainment !

It’s a pity that people don’t realise that singing is a talent too and anybody that was there singing was called by Simon Cowell’s crew and put through lots of production rounds to be put down and embarrassed by him….who ever said he knows anything about music anyway??….saw the auditions with my own two eyes, totally dismissed some great singers and put through people who were only getting up for the laugh.

Totally true – every yr in the semi finals they put through rubbish acts to get voted out so that they (mostly) know who’s going to go through to the final three ..

I agree with that….and the judges have lists of people, they know exactly who is coming out on the stage, they have it all edited every way to make it look like they walked off the street. They gave the bad acts so much time, they stopped one brilliant act half-way and then put him off and made him start again…and rushed another fantastic girl’s audition because she was last and they wanted to go home…

was at the show, saw all the acts in Cardiff, they’re not there to be ridiculed and made a laugh of….people want the good acts going through not a singer that was told ‘You need lots and lots and lots of singing lessons’ ….total disgrace!

I think they should let singers on BGT.

There’s no age limit and some singers don’t want to do things like rock week and michael jackson week, they want to do their own thing.
