Britain’s Got Talent 2013 London auditions review: David Walliams teases Simon Cowell about his “Back Door Lover”
Compared to the lapdancers, burning divers and judges’ fights of the previous days, yesterday’s Britain’s Got Talent audition session was quite uneventful. Of course there were some very interesting acts and some witty banter and audience members were surprised by the fact that Simon Cowell only said yes to one act.
Some things did happen, but Simon told the audience not to reveal any spoilers, he also said:
“It’s been one of those very, very strange days”…
We can shed some light on the goings on inside London Palladium though and reveal that the day’s event included funny moments involving “I was born in the 80’s, the 80’s….”, Men in Black, “Back Door Lover”, David ribbing Simon about his past female conquests and Amanda Holden’s “Buttock clenching yes”.
A fan tweeted David saying:
“Loved your banter with Simon last night, still have #BackDoorLover ringing in my head!”
The Little Britain star replied:
“It could be @SimonCowell’s anthem.”
Walliams was a darling as usual, blowing kisses to the audience and posing. But he also seemed incredibly busy, spending his precious breaks on the phone deeply in what looked like important conversations, while the others shared a natter and a bite to eat.
There was though, a standing ovation after which Simon gave “the easiest yes I’ve ever given”, while also a famous person’s brother auditioned!
Meanwhile David talked to Entertainmentwise about the judges spats, telling the website:
“When there’s chemistry in a judging panel, that’s what makes these shows interesting to watch.
When it’s just: ‘This judge’s opinion, this judge’s opinion, this judge’s opinion”, it gets kind of boring because I love these kind of shows but you know the shows when there’s chemistry and when there isn’t.”
While Amanda Holden said:
“I’m not just saying it but this one [is the best ever]. I think it really works. I always miss Piers [Morgan] but I see him so I don’t have to have him on the judging panel. But this is the perfect judging panel. We all bounce off each other and we all get on really well. We all bring something different to the table.”
