The Britain’s Got Talent judging panel escaped a shakeup in 2013, but the peace and calm may not last long, if Simon Cowell’s recent threats are to be believed.
The music mogul invited David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon to rejoin him at the judges’ table for the new series of the ITV show, but during a recent session of auditions in Birmingham, a row broke out between the girls and the boys and Simon told the ladies that he would replace them with his rumoured girlfriend Carmen Electra if they didn’t pipe down.
The argument occurred after a dance act tried out on stage and while the girls were big fans of their performance, David and Simon weren’t so sure and didn’t want to put them through to the next round.
Angry words were thrown about and Cowell asked mum of two Amanda:
“What’s the matter with you?”
She hit back saying:
“We have had enough of you boys”.
David tried to calm the actress down but she was having none of it and admonished the Little Britain star shouting:
“You have butched up this year and you are always on Simon’s side now”.
Cowell refused to back down and hit out at Holden, blasting:
“Maybe we’ve reached that point where we’ve had enough of each other.”
At this point she and her buddy Alesha stormed off set and sat backstage, leaving the males to conduct the rest of the auditions during that session on their own.
It’s been claimed that as soon as he got a break from the performances, Simon went to see the women in their dressing rooms and threatened them both saying that if they didn’t return, he would consider replacing them with Baywatch babe Carmen Electra.
Predictably, the women bowed to his commands and Dixon later tried to make light of the situation by describing the panel as “a real dysfunctional family.”
A source told Metro:
“The audience were all gobsmacked when Alesha and Amanda stormed out of the auditorium but the girls stood their ground as they felt very passionate about the act. They were thrilled they got their way in the end.
“The panel were all getting along great in the second session so they obviously all made up over dinner.”
If Simon did bring Carmen back, Walliams wouldn’t be too pleased as he didn’t exactly get on with the blonde beauty when she guest judged last year. He said at the time:
‘We tried. We were talking to her and she was just flicking though a magazine.’
Former Strictly Come Dancing judge Alesha added:
‘She didn’t know our names even when they were written in big bold letters in front of us.’
