Britain’s Got Talent 2013: Simon Cowell warns The Voice bosses to move their show!
Simon Cowell has issued a stark warning to BBC bosses over timings of The Voice.
It has been confirmed that the Beeb’s first live show will air on the same night as the Britain’s Got Talent final and it sounds like the show’s maker is not a bit happy.
Cowell told producers of the series that they would be wise to rethink their plans and in an interview with The Daily Star insisted that they would be ‘silly’ to set the two series head to head.
“I think it would be silly if we went up against The Voice – they lost out in the end.”
The Voice went up against it’s ITV rival last year and during it’s auditions round soared ahead in ratings. However, the show’s later equalised and eventually BGT regained it’s lead when the live shows started on BBC and the ITV finals kicked off.
Simon thinks the competition will only dilute the fan base of both shows and continued:
“The trouble is you dilute the viewers and the viewers in the end miss out on that. I don’t think it will happen again. I’d guess that it is them who will budge and not us.”
