Britain’s Got Talent 2013: Soprano Aliki Chrysochou wowed the judges and especially Simon Cowell! Plus BGT pooch Pudsey to star in his own film
When soprano Aliki Chrysochou walked onto the stage to audition for this year’s Britain’s Got Talent, she was apparently greeted by “wolf whistles” and rapturous applause, and that was just from judge Simon Cowell…
I jest of course, but according to TV Biz, stunning Aliki did make a big impression on Simon, but he wasn’t the only one as apparently she “wowed” the audience too when she sang Evanescence’s hit, Bring Me To Life.
The audience warmed to Alike even more when they heard that she’d battled deadly encephalitis and made a remarkable recovery.
She said, “I am blessed that I’m here today. A few years ago I was diagnosed with encephalitis…
“Everything I learnt when I was a baby was all gone — all co-ordination and my speech. I couldn’t speak, read, write or walk.
“My mother had to do everything — feed me and bathe me. She was my voice when I couldn’t speak.
“When I was at the hospital one night she started singing to me. It was the first time I responded — by humming — after a very long time.”
BGT judge Amanda Holden said, “I can’t imagine what your mum must be thinking. The words were so poignant — the song was for your mum.”
Simon then told Aliki she had “natural talent”, and added, “I don’t want you to go…
“There’s something very moving. Having heard your story, everyone wanted you to do well.”
Needless to say, Aliki went through with four “yes” votes. Simon told her, “This is the easiest ‘yes’ I’ve given.”

Meanwhile, in other BGT news, it’s been revealed that former winners Ashleigh Butler and her gorgeous performing pooch Pudsey – who of course performed at last night’s NTAs – are to star in a movie which is set to be released next Christmas.
Screen Daily report that the film will be made as a co-production between Simon’s Syco Entertainment and Vertigo films.
The Mirror quotes Pudsey’s manager Jonathan Shalit as saying, “The British people love Pudsey.
“He has met the Queen and was invited to 10 Downing Street by the Prime Minister. This represents a hugely exciting next step.”
