Britain’s Got Talent 2013 spoilers: Dancers Strictly Alba wow Simon Cowell & Amanda Holden!
There have been singers (lots of them!), dancing raccoons, strippers and pole dancers but one of the acts that shone at the Britain’s Got Talent auditions this week was a good old fashioned dance troupe.
Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden travelled to Glasgow this week – some by private jet and some by train – to watch the latest group of wannabes try out for a spot on the hit ITV show.
David and Simon may have rowed over a pole dancer and Si Co’s constant tardiness, but it seems they agreed on one thing, the talent of a group of dancers named Strictly Alba.
The Angus Courier has revealed that the eight person dance troupe, from Nicola Grant and Delma Wilson schools in Kirrie and Forfar got a standing ovation from the audience after their routine and wonderful commentary from all of the judging panel.
The troupe consisted of Linzi Elms, Leanne Wood, Robyn Hart-Winks, Emma Stewart, Holly Milne, Kirstin Stewart, Airlie McIntyre and Sophie Brown and mum of two Amanda Holden was totally charmed by their performance, describing as being like “Monarch of the Glen….in Ibiza”.
The ever hard to impress Simon was also quite pleased with what he saw and confessed:
“I normally don’t like this sort of stuff, but that was very, very good.”
“Between them they have won dancing titles all over the world, so we know how good they are, but they really proved that to the people that mattered — they were blown away by all the judges’ comments and the crowd,” Delma said.
Nicola said: “The whole day was an absolutely unforgettable experience — hopefully we’ll have the chance to carry the flag for Highland dance on the London stage and have no doubts Strictly Alba will do themselves proud.”
Group member Linzi is still in shock about having received such a positive reception from the stars and tweeted yesterday saying:
“Did yesterday actually happen?! Still feel like it was all a dream! #StrictlyAlba”
Britain’s Got Talent returns to our TV screens in April and acts that have shone so far this year include Bethan Horton, girl group Primrose Hill, magician Ryan Hicks, Andrew Leigh Evans, Jack Duff and Cormac Connell and McKNasty.
