Alan Carr has admitted that his love for Britain’s Got Talent has been reinvigorated by the developing bromance between Simon Cowell and David Walliams.
Walliams has become the star of the ITV show this year and his flirty banter with Simon Cowell has charmed and amused viewers, since the series kicked off last month.
Channel 4 chat show host Carr loves the Little Britain star in his new role – don’t we all? – and thinks that his chemistry with the normally straight laced music mogul has totally ‘loosened’ up the show and made it more fun for fans.
Alan – who returns with his popular Chatty Man series this week – told Metro that he finds Walliams a ‘breath of fresh air’ and explained:
“With David Walliams it’s become a bit irreverent; he’s a breath of fresh air.
“It’s really loosened the show up and even Simon Cowell looks like he’s having fun.”
Last weekend David was seen helping Simon to clap his hands and move along to a lively carnival band and in another recent episode, suggested that they form their own same sex dance duo.
It’s moments like these that keep Alan on the edge of his seat and he giggled:
“I just love the sexual tension between the two of them – I’ve totally bought into it.
“It is 2012, why can’t two men get together and start a family? I don’t know how Sinitta would feel about it, though.”
However David thinks that another male duo on the ITV show may pip he and Simon to the post and the TV funnyman tweeted:
Ant & Dec told me that if gay marriage becomes legal they want to be first to tie the knot.
Simon Cowell and I have been asked to be bridesmaids.
We can just see them in matching peach meringue gowns….they’d be a total vision!
