Britain’s Got Talent: Charlie Wernham Gets One Over On Simon

Hoping to keep everyone smiling on tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent is 13 year old Charlie Wernham, a budding young comedian from Essex.

“Why did you enter Britain’s Got Talent?” asks Simon, “Because everyone tells me I’m a funny guy, well my Nan mainly”. As the cheeky little chap launches into his routine it’s not long before the Judges and the audience are in stitches, and he seems to be the first comedian whose jokes Simon actually gets, “We have seen some terrible comedians on this show, but these were a, the only jokes that made me laugh, and b, the only ones I’ve heard that I understand, if your Nan discovered you I’d like her to come and work for me”.

Simon then asks where Charlie’s Nan is, “she died a year ago” replies Charlie to a mortified looking Simon, but Charlie has the last laugh

, laughing his head off to Simon’s reaction, “Are you winding me up? Why are you smiling” asks Simon, “no she did die a year ago” explains Charlie “But it was great to see the big man cry!!”
