Britain’s Got Talent: Daniel Pirie, The Next Billy Elliot?

For the next act performing today not only means a lot to him, it also means a lot to his Mum. 13 year old Daniel Pirie a dancer and as he explains, “dancing helps me a lot when I am feeling sad or if I am angry”.
And Daniel has a good reason to get down at times, four years ago his single Mum Jackie had an accident that left her permanently disabled meaning she has to walk with a stick and sometimes use a wheelchair.
She used to be a professional dancer so it means her only contact with the dancing world is now through Daniel, “Daniel really does have amazing talent and he dances from his heart, he really is amazing”. As Daniel explains, Dancing is who I am, its not just a hobby it’s my life, it lets me express how I am feeling. I am doing it for myself but I am also doing it for my Mum.”
His performance wins the whole theatre over and Amanda declares him the “Billy Elliot of this competition”.
