Britain’s Got Talent: David Walliams joins NY Secret Policeman’s Ball with Russell Brand, records new C4 Comedy Project and helps kid’s charity project

David Walliams continues to be the busiest Britain’s Got Talent judge, besides Simon Cowell. Today it was revealed that he and Russell Brand are amongst the performers that agreed to perform at Amnesty International’s Secret Policeman’s Ball in New York. It is the first time David will perform live comedy in the USA so it is a big step for him. The show will be broadcast live on cable and internet from Radio City Music Hall on March 4. Other performers at the show include: Sarah Silverman, Paul Rudd, Chris O’Dowd (“Bridesmaids”), Peter Serafinowicz, Noel Fielding, Matt Berry, Micky Flanagan and Jack Whitehall.

But this is not all. Fresh from his Monday night recordings with Jonathan Ross, the pair are said to have been recording scenes for a new Channel 4 Sketch show today in Elstree.

Further details are kept under wraps, so we’re curious to hear what this is all about.

David continues to show his kind nature, today it was revealed that he has donated the cap he wore during his gruelling Sport Relief Thames swim to Andrew Telford, who is fundraising to pay for treatment for his son AJ Tighe. The cap is part of a charity auction at Kinmel Manor Hotel on March 2. The auction will support the six year old youngster with cerebral palsy, so he can travel to America in April for a life-changing operation to help him walk unaided.

Mr Telford, whose campaign supporters include the anonymous Rhyl Animals and a number of Rhyl businesses, said a slew of prizes have already been donated.

He told the Rhyl Journal: “This is proving to be an amazing auction. Check out some of the lots!”

Besides David’s donation, other donations include a signed Chelsea shirt and first team photo, a signed Steven Gerrard photo with two passes to Liverpool and signed memorabilia from singing star Olly Murs.

Mr Telford said: “This is a smart casual event to raise as much money for AJ as we can. Bar is available and hopefully we will be having special guests attending.”
