Britain’s Got Talent: David Walliams & Jonathan Ross record quiz show Trending Topics with Kirk Norcross (as David breaks Jonathans phone)
Last night David Walliams and Jonathan Ross joined forces to tape a new, fun sounding, run through (a step before the official pilot) of a new quiz show for ITV1 titled ‘Trending Topics’. The show is said to be based around the latest weekly Twitter trends.
New Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams is expected to be a team captain on the show and was there in this capacity at the recordings last night.
He took to Twitter to reveal:
“Jonathan Ross & I just did a run-through of a new panel show – ‘Trending Topics’. I really love working with him, he always makes me laugh.”
Panellists for the show consisted of Kirk Norcross – who went down very well with both Walliams and Ross and might be a recurring guest if the show makes it to TV – Jon Richardson, Andi Oshi, and a Loose Woman star.
There was a bit that included a “squeaky tampon” (yes, really!!) and David took the “Action Round”, which was “phone tossing” a bit too literally when he grabbed Jonathan’s Iphone and threw it through the studio, naturally breaking it in the process.
Kirk Norcross excitedly tweeted:
“Sitting with the legend that is Jonathan Ross having a chat about Essex! Erm….#ManCrush lol. Just finished filming!!! Had such a laugh! En route back to Essex now!”
The audience was asked to think of potential rounds to include in the show and the ideas came thick and fast. They was also asked what they thought of the quiz in general and judging by the crowd’s response, ITV is onto a winner, so good news for Wally and Wossie!!
Walliams main priority is still Britain’s Got Talent, though. So it was no surprise people saw him spending most of his free Sunday in Harrods buying presents and chocolates for cast and crew to present on the last day of auditions. Sweet man!!
