Britain’s Got Talent: David Walliams lands role in new Johnny Depp flick as Amanda Holden says “he can be dark”

When David Walliams and his wife Lara Stone rocked up to attend the BFI’s screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s Blackmail, little did he know he would leave there with a new role under his belt.

Tatler reports:

“David and Lara talked to everyone and stayed all night despite the fact they were skipping off to Brighton very early the next day.”

Good thing they did, as it meant the actor and comedian had the chance for a long chinwag with director and former Python Terry Gilliam.

According to reports on film and Johnny Depp sites, the pair first talked comedy and Hitchcock, then the talk turned future work. When he heard about the movie Gilliam had planned, Walliams asked the director if there were any parts for him. Gilliam said there might be, but he was warned that he’d have to “be willing to work with Johnny Depp and fly to Bucharest where the movie is to be filmed.”

Walliams, of course agreed, even saying that he’d do it for free – which Gilliam “gladly accepted.”

Hmm, VERY interesting, Walliams and Depp together sounds like a dream combo, their style of dark comedy could mix perfectly.

Talking about dark, Mrs Amanda Holden has talked to Attitude magazine and revealed her ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ co-judge can be “quite dark”.

Amanda Holden hinted that she thinks Walliams changes his personality on the television.

She said: “I don’t find him creepy but he is quite dark. He’s a really interesting person and not the person that you see on the TV, I don’t think. He’s a feeder and he loves feeding people and fattening us all up.”

Yesterday David and his wife were among the stars watching at Murray’s defeat at Wimbledon. The gracious comic said: “An amazing match. Murray is still a hero, even in defeat.” Wife Lara later shared a cute picture of Walliams relaxing with little Bert after the eventful weekend.
