Britain’s Got Talent: David Walliams to recite poetry for Disney and is the new face of ITV lifts!

David Walliams and Matt Smith are among the cast of British stars that will narrate a second series of poetry shorts for Disney Junior UK.

The series is hoping to stir up some fond memories of Disney classic stories for us big children at heart and create new ones for the real life young ones. ‘A Poem Is…’ will feature poetry set to the animated scenes from some of the most memorable Disney films such as ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,’ ‘Cinderella,’ ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and ‘Sleeping Beauty.’ The interstitial series also features an introduction by young children talking about what a poem is to them with famous voices reciting the poems.
Seeing how entranced children were by David’s reading of Roald Dahl in his Perspectives documentary last Sunday, it is certain his poem will be a hit.

Richard Briers, Michelle Dockery and Jessica Hynes will also support A Poem Is… which will start later this month.

Disney UK’s general manager, Boel Ferguson, said: “Combining timeless poetry with imagery from some of Disney’s most beloved animations is a fantastic way for young children and their parents to enjoy the beauty of a poem well read.”

This week David is back on the set of “King of Soho” also starring Steve Coogan. He has also had the honour of having his face plastered over a lift in ITV’s HQ in London and the picture below was tweeted by Britain’s Got Talent warm up man, Ian Royce.

Looking good David!
