Dean got a magic set as a child and always loved playing tricks on people. He used to sneak to London (his parents weren’t supportive of his magic interests) to see magic shows when he was 15 years old. He joined the magic circle and met a Dutch magician who tutored him on how to perform. He did his first performance for the magic circle when he was 15.
He put together a show and took it to Jersey when he was 23, where he met Sue. She worked in a bank, but fell in love with Dean and decided to be his assistant. She was 18 years old. She moved to London with him and they got married soon after. They performed in ‘the top magic clubs in Britain’ for ten years.
Their act became ‘sexy’ because Sue was so young when they were at their height of performing. The men who used to watch used to mention to Dean that Sue was attractive and that they should make more of a show of her. This is where the ‘sexy’ part of the act comes from. They still do it now because it’s their signature, but Sue finds it harder to keep up now! They played the big clubs until they all started to be shut down in the 1980s. They started to perform on cruise ships, but didn’t enjoy the politics that went along with them. They preferred to have their own shows. Four years ago they took on part time jobs and opened a restaurant, but this meant that they hardly ever performed. They have started to perform a bit more now at various corporate functions, and they mainly go abroad. They have entered Britain’s Got Talent to get their big break. Their dream is to bring good magic back into the fore of Television and theatre shows. They think this is their last chance to make it.
Judges comments:
Two buzzers from Amanda and Simon, two Yes’s from Simon and Piers
Amanda – That was not comfortable to watch. A bit slow. Dying to put magicians through but some things should stay at home.
Simon – It was like a striptease before getting into a cooking pot. The sexual tension between the two of you is steaming.

My husband & I think Amanda was very rude about the Deans of magic all she is interested in is men showing off their bodies.I have seen the Deans of magic several times before & they are great they should have let them finish their act before stoping them.I am finally fed up with shows like this when they can treat people like they do.I certainly will not watch any more of these shows I am disgusted. If Amanda think it is funny to ridicule people then she needs to grow up & Simon needs to look at the acts & not the beautiful bodies it also well know that the final winner will be the 12 year old girl as Simon says the best is yet to come.I think the people who got to the semi-final deserve better comments from the judges & I think they know before the semi-finals who the winner is.Thank you
