Britain’s Got Talent: Jamie Pugh Is NOT A Sob Story!

Britain’s Got Talent singer Jamie Pugh has won the respect of many viewers, after refusing to use the story of his wife’s tragic death to win sympathy on the TV show.
Jamie’s wife Tracey died from a brain tumour ten years ago leaving Jamie to raise his three year old son Callum alone. Jamie told The Sun:
“It was a wicked thing to happen, it was unbearable.
“Tracey would be proud of me, but everybody has a history and I chose not to dwell on it.
“Things like this devastate millions of families.
“It’s like Daniel Evans in last year’s X Factor. People latched on to him because of his sob story. I don’t want that. It’s not what this competition is about.”
I, personally, admire Jamie’s attitude to this issue and wish we had more people like him. Daniel Evans from last years show did not exploit his back story, but many have. Let’s hope that Jamie’s approach to the competition wins him plenty of votes and sees him win a place in the final this month.
