Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams UK’s most successful author!

We’ve known it for a long time, as we charted Gangsta Granny’s magnificent 22 week reign at the top of the charts. but now it is official:
Congratulations David Walliams, you are officially one of the UK’s bestselling authors!!
Today it has been revealed that David has sold more than two million (2.5million) copies of his books and has earned publishers Harper Collins over £13million from his five children’s books.
One publisher told The Sun: “He is a phenomenon. People who think of him as a comedian are wrong. He’s far and away the most successful children’s book writer for years. He’s the Roald Dahl of his generation.”
David started his writing career in 2008 with The Boy In The Dress, followed by ‘Mr Stink’ – which was turned into a BBC film last Christmas – ‘Billionaire Boy’, ‘Ratburger’ and ‘Gangsta Granny’ –which will be on our screens this Christmas
He is set to release his sixth story, ‘Demon Dentist’ later this month.
This month David was voted the person they’d most like to be the head of cabin crew on their flight, according to a poll of British travellers by Japanese airline ANA.
This week David sponsored his dear friend Denise van Outen for her Great Wall of China trek.
He is set to open in A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Sheridan Smith on Saturday.
